What is a Phase Converter?
A phase converter is used to convert single-phase power into three-phase power. The phase converter generates a third line of power (also known as a sine wave) that is paired with the two single-phase lines to create 3-phase power.
If your business or home only has single-phase power, a phase converter gives you a way to run three-phase equipment without upgrading your electrical service.
There are different types of phase converters, including rotary, static, and digital models. Each type serves specific needs depending on the equipment being powered and the level of performance required.
Getting three-phase power from the utility company is often expensive (approximately $100-200/foot to install) and impractical. A phase converter is a reliable and cost-effective solution for powering tools, motors, and machinery that require 3-phase power
